2014 UK Family Holiday Destinations
Thinking of going on holiday this year on a budget or simply don’t have passports for all the family? Then why not go on a holiday here in the UK, even if it’s only a short weekend break!
Blackpool
Blackpool is great for all the family and has attractions for the entire family. Blackpool is a place that can keep the whole family entertained, regardless of age. Blackpool has Go Karts, Arcades, 3 Piers, Blackpool Pleasure Beach Theme Park, Sandcastle Water Park, Sea Life Aquarium, Madam Two Swords, Blackpool Tower, Casinos, Mini Golf and much more. Blackpool has a lot to offer and has attractions to keep the family busy for a whole week. If you’re going to do several attractions then I suggest you look at the Blackpool Resort Pass.
Butlins
Butlins has 3 sites across the UK; Skegness, which is a caravan site, Bognor Regis, which is the only site located in the southern part of the country and Minehead site is known for its shows which this year includes WWE & Peter Andre. They all include arcades, beaches, splash world Water Park, cinemas and shows for the kids. Butlins truly is a great family resort and can make a lovely family holiday on a budget. Butlins has something for the entire family and ensures their sites have activities all through out the day to keep the both kids and parents entertained. Most people will choose to go to the Butlins resort, which is closest to their location, but all 3 of the Butlins resorts have a lot to offer.
Alton Towers
Alton towers is an ideal theme park for thrill seekers and is the largest theme park in the country. It is mainly for older kids and teenagers but can also be enjoyed by youngsters too. You can now stay at either the Alton Towers or Splash Landings Hotel, which is situated just a stone’s throw from the theme park. Alton Towers can make a great short break. I recommend 3 days for this trip to ensure nothing is missed. All this fun does come at a price which, for a 3 day trip, could be very expensive as the hotel prices are not cheap. If you do decide to stay then there are plenty activities that could keep you busy. Alton Towers has the world’s first CBeebies Land with great kids attractions. Alton Towers has a water park, which is great ideal for the summer, however tickets are sold separately for the water park. Overall Alton Towers is an ideal place to spend a short break with the family.
