Common Ailments: Everyday Lifestyle Habits That Could Be Bad For Us!
We’ve all got good habits, and we’ve all got bad ones as well! Whether we spend a lot of time looking after our fitness but cancel this out by eating a pile of cake, we’ve all got our crosses to bear. And when we can argue that it’s all about balance, are there some common lifestyle habits that could very well be bad for us? And what can we do about these habits?
Reusing The Same Water Glass
For a day or two, it’s okay, but if you are someone that lives with other people in a house share and you don’t get to the kitchen much, using that same dirty glass could expose you to unfriendly bacteria. It’s a little thing, but if you live in an area where there can be water problems, it’s worth researching some commercial water care solutions to ensure that the water you’re drinking is safe. For the most part, it is, but in terms of leaving water out for a good while, it can certainly increase the amount of germs in the glass.
Snoring
It seems we all do it on occasion, but if it’s a non-stop thing, it’s worth checking to see if there’s an underlying health condition. If you snore all the time, this could very well be a sign of sleep apnoea. This can have drastic consequences, from high blood pressure to a stroke, or even diabetes. It’s worth consulting the doctor if you have any concerns, but there are also plenty of devices out there that can help. Not just devices but you can also take up advanced hypnotherapy training so that you can access your subconscious and control yourself better. There are special pillows and tactics to try that can give you a better night’s sleep, not to mention a better night’s sleep for the person you share a bed with!
Biting Your Nails
Think about it, your fingers come into contact with everything. If something is unclean, this means that you are exposing yourself to an abundance of germs. Your nails and fingertips are full of bacteria and biting your nails so much could expose you to bacteria like salmonella or e coli that can be carried underneath the fingertips. But there are so many methods out there to stop you biting your nails, from homemade remedies to even hypnosis.
Taking Too Many Painkillers
We all know we shouldn’t take too many anyway, but if we pop too much aspirin or ibuprofen, this could, over time, increase our risk for ulcers, high blood pressure, and possibly even heart attacks. If you find yourself having pain on a constant basis, you may want to try one of the many alternative methods out there. For those that are in constant pain, there is a chance that going into cold water can numb the symptoms.
Being Sedentary
We all know that we need to get up and move around more, but if we sit all day in an office and then go home and watch TV, are we getting the exercise we need? Instead of watching TV as soon as you get in, think about developing a habit where you get the heart pumping for a little bit. Gradually, over time, you can build up your tolerance to exercise, and you will get stronger, and therefore, healthier.
