Expanding One Step At A Time
If you think back to when you first started your business, what was your goal to become? Was it to stay a small town business, that only really gets custom from the local area? Or was it to become a globally recognised business, with a six figure bank account, and a thriving business that just won’t quit? We know it’s going to be the second one for most of you, but we know that most of you won’t even have got close to achieving a dream like this. We understand expanding your business is hard, especially if you feel like you’ve hit a bit of a brick wall with the sales you’re making. So, we want to try and show you have you can do it one step at a time, and allow your business to thrive into what it was always destined to be.
First Stabilise Your Profits
You will find that each month that you’re in business will be different. One month you could have made such a high amount of profit, and the next week you’ll be suffering from a drop in profits that will lead your business to slow down a little. It’s a rollercoaster ride that we’re all on, and stabilising your profits is definitely not going to be easy. To do so, you’re going to have to perfect your customer engagement and marketing skills, as those are the two key components to stabilising things. If you are engaging with your customers, giving them rewards, treating them as other companies wouldn’t, and offering them things that other companies wouldn’t, then you’re halfway there. The second is to make sure that you’re using a variety of different successful marketing techniques to help you gain more exposure. Marketing campaigns are actually so important, so being completely involved with the campaign throughout, rather than just letting it run itself, is going to be so much better for your business.
Expand Your Team & Office
The next step is to first expand your office size. If you’re cramped in an office only big enough for a few people at the minute, you physically have no room for growth. So, focus on looking at commercial property listings, and finding yourself a decent space for you and your staff, and room for a few extras! The bigger your office, the bigger your company is going to feel, and the more likely you are to have the right mindset to actually expand your business. The second step is to slowly hire employees, and create roles that are actually going to benefit your business. If you have one employee who is always crying out about their workload, share it and increase it to another employee. If you halved the workload, then added a little bit more to try and build your business, a new employee will give you the capacity to cope with this.
Expand Your Customer Reach
So, the next step is busting out of the small town chains that are holding you back, and improving your customer reach. If you really are still operating in the immediate area of your business, expand by using things such as a virtual reality office, better marketing, and better customer interaction. Get yourself to trade events, and show the public that your business is ready to go global.
