Whether it’s because of their adorable features, a star role in a film or association to their celebrity owners, there are many pets that have become household names over the years. See which pets have earned their way to fame below:
Pudsey, Britain’s Got Talent winner
Along with his owner Ashleigh, Pudsey, a border collie, bichon frise and Chinese crested powderpuff cross, became the first dog trick act to win the UK’s Britain’s Got Talent in 2012. The dancing duo impressed the judges when they performed their tricks act to the Mission Impossible theme. Ever since the dog walked on for his memorable audition, he has melted the hearts of the nation and will be the star of his very own film this year when ‘Pudsey: the Movie’ comes to cinemas in summer 2014.
To perform on stage, these dogs have specialized dog nail grinders which help the shape the nail in an easier manner which then does not come in the way nor hurt the dog while they are performing their acts. A lot goes into grooming the pets for the day as the point which they get are also for the cleanliness and how well they are represented.
Tardar Sauce the Grumpy Cat
If you spend a lot of your time on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, there’s no doubt you’ll have come across this famous cat. An Internet sensation, Tardar Sauce is renowned for her grumpy facial expression and has over 3 million fans on Facebook. Her owner Tabatha Bundesen says that her permanently grumpy-looking face is due to feline dwarfism. Luckily, thanks to care received via Tardar’s cat health insurance, the only effect her dwarfism has on her is the famous grumpy expression. Tardar’s popularity began when a picture was posted to the social news website Reddit and went viral. Since then the Grumpy Cat has been featured on the front of the Wall Street Journal and her face can be found on t-shirts, mugs and calendars around the world.
Boo, the World’s Cutest Dog
Boo is a Pomeranian that has become an Internet sensation all around the world. Renowned for his unique haircut, Boo shot to fame when his owner created a Facebook page for the dog as a joke in 2009. He soon became a star in 2010 when he attracted the likes of Kesha and Khloe Kardashian. Boo’s Facebook page has gone viral since and now has over nine million fans. The dog now has his own book ‘Boo: The Life of the World’s Cutest Dog’ and a range of merchandise including toys, mugs and lunch-boxes.
Sunny and Bo, part of the Obama Family
Presidents need a best friend too,and in this case Barack Obama has two. First dogs Bo and Sunny Obama are Portuguese Water Dogs and have become an integral part of the White House, not to mention a sensation in the world of Instagram and Twitter. The pooches took centre stage in the 2013 holiday card sent out by President Barack Obama and according to the Metro, even Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy has been seen hanging out with them.
Hamilton, the Hipster Cat
Hamilton is no ordinary cat, Hamilton has a curly white moustache and his human like facial expressions have been loved and recognised all around the world. Owned by comedian Jay Stowe, who instantly fell in love with him, Hamilton has his own popular Facebook, Twitter YouTube and Instagram accounts and his very own clothing line for men and women.
