First official teaser trailer released for ITV mini series, Chasing Shadows
With release of the first official teaser trailer for the greatly anticipated Chasing Shadows (as tweeted by one Reece Shearsmith), it is fair to say we can expect a very decent bit of telly.
Starring Reece Shearsmith, Alex Kingston and Noel Clarke, the four part crime drama concentrates on the work of a missing person’s field unit responsible for pursuing serial killers who prey on the vulnerable. Shearsmith plays DS Sean Stone whilst Kingston portrays his voice of reason, Ruth Hattersley and Clarke assumes the role of DI Prior. Christopher Menaul (See No Evil: The Moors Murders) will direct Only Connect, the first two self-contained narratives, whilst Off Radar, the second two-part story will be directed by Jim O’Hanlon (In the Flesh).
Even with the mere twenty seconds of footage the trailer provides, Shearsmith continues to demonstrate his masterful talent for playing quirky, oddball characters with a vulnerable air and Kingston’s curiously maternal characterisation of Hattersley is both endearing and engaging.
A date is yet to be confirmed, although there are rumours that the series will broadcast sometime in September.
