Is Celebrity fashion becoming a bad influence on the younger generation?
It’s fair to say that some celebrities have always dressed promiscuously whether it is to get more attention or simply just because they want to, but it seems to be becoming a regular occurrence now, especially considering the younger celebrities.
Most people are aware of the well-known Miley Cyrus who first started her career on Disney Channel playing Hannah Montana yet now she is known for her notorious sexual dance moves and her skimpy costumes which many believe is not suitable for her fan base, being mainly young girls from around the ages of 9-18.
Most of us expect this from such celebrities as Rihanna and Nicki Minaj but is it really acceptable for young girls who are fans of women such as Cyrus to be subject to this sexualised behaviour and fashion trend. Recently she has even been voted as the ‘worst role model for young girls’ which can’t be much to celebrate about.
So is this fashion really tainting the minds of young girls and presenting the idea that it is ok to dress in a certain way, or is it just a big performance that nobody really does care that much about? Some people believe that although these celebrities are forever in the media it is the parents job to set boundaries and explain to their children that it is merely a show and that the clothing worn is inappropriate, after all, celebrities aren’t mothers to every young girl in the country.
