And London Fashion Week begins…
It’s that time again, London Fashion Week is almost here and it’s bigger than ever. During the 13th-17th of September all eyes will be on our capital, so ladies don your highest heels and widest smiles, and prepare for what is set to be the biggest fashion event in the calendar.
This year the British Fashion Council has embarked on a city wide campaign to celebrate Fashion Week. In promotion of the week the Council have introduced a #FashionFriday bulletin which will be broadcast to commuters on the London Underground platform screens.
As well as this the infamous Oxford Street has collaborated with 5 designers to create 75 fashion flags to decorate the street in homage to London Fashion Week. Plus several of the flagship stores have also introduced their A/W13 collections to coincide with the event. So, as well as being able to pore over the latest runway looks we will also be able to shop to our hearts content on the Great British High Street.
Also throughout the city there will be several pop-up stores showcasing their latest collections, many brands are taking part including Henry Holland’s ‘House of Holland (a personal favourite of mine).
Aside from all the fabulous shopping opportunities, the Council has also introduced an open air cinema screen will be showing iconic fashion films. So wherever you are in the city you will be able to enjoy a slice of London Fashion Week. But do not despair if you are unable to visit London for the event, there will be a steady stream of images, interviews and gossip on several social networking sites including Twitter and Instagram along with the caption #LFW.
So there we have it, the capital is prepared for Fashion Week, but the question is…ladies are you? As for me, I most definitely am and am excitedly awaiting several shows including PPQ, Erdem and of course House of Holland.
