MoonProject Book Giveaway: “Pompeii”
Today MoonProject is partnering with The Folio Society to give away a copy of award-winning book “Pompeii“.
This fantastic book by award-winning author Mary Beard digs beneath the myth to bring us as close as possible to the real Pompeii – a place of contradiction whose destruction still grips the world’s imagination after almost two thousand years.
In addition to being an author, Mary Beard, OBE, is a Professor of Classics at the University of Cambridge and the writer of the rather fantastic blog “A Don’s Life” appearing in The Times as a regular column.
This edition contains 32 pages of colour photographs, from photographs of Pompeii’s streets with their raised stepping stones, possibly to protect pedestrians from piles of refuse, to haunting plaster casts of the volcano’s victims.
