The Big Team Report (TBTR): Barclays Premier League Week 21
Arsenal : Alexis Sanchez was once again the man for Arsenal as he scored 2 goals and set up another one for Laurent Koscielny as the Gunners defeated Stoke City by 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium. The win moves Wenger’s men to 5th place, just a point off 4th place Manchester United.
Chelsea: Oscar was the man for The Blues as he scored one goal and then set up another one for club’s top scorer Diego Costa in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge. The win keeps Chelsea at the top of the BPL, 2 points ahead of second place Manchester City.
Liverpool: Lazar Markovic 8th minute strike was enough as Liverpool easily beat Sunderland away last Saturday afternoon. The Serb was at the end of a perfect Red’s attack, as his team got back to winning ways after a disappointing draw against Leicester City in their last league outing. The win moves Rodger’s men to 8th in the Premier League table, just 5 points behind 4th place Manchester United.
Manchester City: The Citizens lost ground on league leaders Chelsea as they drew 1-1 away against Everton. Fernandinho deflected David Silva shot in the 74th minute to give his side the lead but Joe Hart error in judgment allowed Steven Naismith to equalized for the home side 4 minutes later. Pellegrini’s men remain second in the EPL log but are now 2 points behind leaders Chelsea.
Manchester United: The Reds Devils winless run continues as they lost by a single goal at home to Southampton. Van Gaal’s men fail to record a single shot on target during the whole game and pay for it in 69th minute when Dusan Tadic stroke in the rebound from a Graziano Pelle’s shot that hit the post. United now drop to 4th in the table, 10 points behind city rival Manchester City.
